Wild Week in Selah
One week into my first time moving to a new area!! It's so so much different than Ellensburg. For example in Ellensburg you could work your butt off for a full week, knocking hundreds of doors and texting/calling everyone in our app and you'd be lucky to have over 10 lessons. Here in Selah we have still been working hard, but not nearly as much and we get around 3 lessons a day!! I never thought it would be possible since the only thing I knew was Ellensburg. I got used to that so moving to new areas can very clearly be so beneficial to missionaries.
One of the biggest changes I've seen within myself besides spiritual is definitely cooking. I used to DESPISE cooking but now it's becoming a passion. I've been experimenting with different spices in my rice, my chicken, my eggs, my sausage, my onions and whatever else I cook. It's become something I look forward to every day to cook a tasty meal that I love. I even started practicing with baking this week! I made brownies and banana cream pie (Simple, I know, but you have to start somewhere)
I found it very easy to grow trust and connections already in the new ward, I firmly believe I am blessed with being able to connect to multiple groups of people, such as someone like Brandon, someone we are teaching, who is very stereotypical young sports guy who sells expensive clothes and jerseys and vapes in his store. I talked with him about basketball, football, and baseball a ton, and was able to befriend him fast. But I was also able to talk to a group of youth at church who are much different, they love nerdy things such as Star Wars, The Office, Stranger Things and anime, well guess what so do I!! So I was able to chat about those passions I have. And lastly someone noticed my Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift bracelets, and we were able to connect through that type of music. So all in all I feel blessed for being interested in so many very different things.
Every Monday and Friday we go to a ranch and help with whatever they need. Last Friday we helped build some type of arena, and Monday we helped scoop....well you know.
We ate dinner at the Smiths this Sunday (haha) and one of their kids name is Hadley Smith... my companions name is Elder Hadley and I'm Elder Smith, isn't that crazy??
HOW IS IT ALMOST CHRISTMAS? MY BRAIN STILL THINKS ITS SEPTEMBER.
